BBQs, Pool Parties, and Smarter Outdoor Living
Your outdoor space really comes alive this time of year.
It’s widely understood that Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, which means BBQs, pool parties, and backyard movie nights are top of mind. In the spirit of summer, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite technology upgrades for outdoor living.
Sonance Landscape Audio Speakers
We love these. Traditional outdoor speakers were typically mounted in pairs on the back of the house and blasted sound across the yard. If you were nearby, they were too loud. If you were further away, the experience fell flat. And your neighbors probably didn’t appreciate it.
The Sonance Landscape Series takes a smarter approach. Small satellite speakers are placed throughout the yard and paired with buried subwoofers. This design delivers rich, even sound at lower volumes, giving you immersive audio without disturbing the neighborhood. Plus, the speakers blend seamlessly with landscape lighting for a clean look.
Samsung Terrace Outdoor TVs
For years, we hesitated to recommend outdoor TVs in the Pacific Northwest. With our climate, the cost difference between outdoor and indoor models just didn’t make sense. That changed with the Samsung Terrace.
The Terrace is built to handle the elements and is priced much closer to a regular TV. It’s also brighter, which helps it perform well even in direct sunlight. We frequently install these in outdoor living spaces and kitchens, and they’ve proven to be both durable and impressive. Whether you’re watching a movie under the stars or catching a game from the patio, this TV holds up.
Outdoor-Rated Wireless Access Points
Networking is the unsung hero of the modern home. It’s not flashy, but when it fails, everything else comes to a stop.
Many common exterior materials like concrete, brick, stone, metal, and coated glass can block Wi-Fi signals from reaching your outdoor space.
Outdoor-rated wireless access points solve that problem. By mounting the antenna on the outside of the house, the signal gets past those barriers and into the open air. This significantly increases range.
Some of our clients have signal strong enough to stream all the way to their fire pits, garden spaces, or boat docks hundreds of feet away.
Colorscaping Landscape Lighting by AiSPIRE
We’ve been really into Colorscaping by AiSPIRE. This system offers a full spectrum of colors and warm/cool white light and works well with the lighting control systems we already use.
The fixture options include path lights, accent lights, wall washes, and more. They are designed to highlight your outdoor space and set the perfect mood for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting a dinner, having friends over for drinks, or relaxing by the pool, Colorscaping brings the vibe. It adds personality, color, and elegance to your landscape lighting.
